Fuck the mind first. Then the body Comes easier.
10 Reasons to Eat BreakfastBuilding a Balanced Breakfast
- Breakfast restores sugar levels after up to 12 hours of not eating.
- It is extremely difficult to get all of your necessary daily nutrients without breakfast.
- Adults who skip breakfast are less mentally and physically efficient for longer periods during the day.
- People who eat breakfast are more successful at losing weight and sticking to a diet.
- Athletes who skip breakfast train less effectively.
- Eating breakfast can raise metabolism by as much as 10 percent.
- People who eat breakfast regularly are more likely to rate their health as “excellent” or “good.”
- Missing breakfast increases your chance of heavy machinery and factory accidents.
- Eating breakfast has been shown to increase concentration.
- Eating a bigger meal in the morning and a smaller meal at night optimizes your daily energy levels.
Breakfast should provide at least one quarter of the calories you need for the entire day. Most nutritionists agree that a good breakfast contains the following ingredients:
- At least one serving of fiber
- At least one fruit and/or vegetable
- Milk or another source of calcium
- Protein, i.e., from meat, cheese or eggs
If this sounds like a tall order, it’s not. A bowl of cereal with fruit, a cereal bar with a glass of milk or a pita pocket with ham and cheese all fill the bill, as do bigger, traditional breakfasts, like eggs, ham and juice or blueberry pancakes with bacon. And, yes, cold pizza (with a glass of milk) qualifies as a healthy breakfast alternative.
Never eat breakfast?
If your usual breakfast is a cup of coffee, start small by incorporating a glass of juice or milk into your morning routine for a week or so, and then gradually build up to a balanced meal. If you think you don’t have time in the morning, consider making breakfast the night before or buying ready-made alternatives, such as cereal bars and juice boxes.

I believe we create most of our own pain. Life would be impossibly boring if we didn’t create some element of pain for ourselves. If we just played it safe, lived stagnantly, we would be in pain at all times, forever. But that’s a different pain. Chronic pain is dull and crippling. Some choose to live in that pain.
While others choose to step off the bridge. They choose risk over atrophy. The pain that comes with risk is sharper. But, it’s not guaranteed pain. With risk, there is a 50/50 chance that you will feel pain. And, if you do, it’s sharp. It will wake you from a dead sleep. It hurts you deep. But, the pain subsides with time. And if you luck out and you don’t fail, you don’t feel the pain. You feel euphoria.
Risk hurts, but so does life. There is no way to avoid it. Pain is inescapable. With the dull pain of the stagnant life, one feels like they know what they are getting from day-to-day. They know what they will wake up to. Until life drops a bomb they weren’t expecting, then the pain becomes unbearable.
With risk, nothing is guaranteed. You may work hard, take risks and wake up to that same bomb. All your hard work could be blown away in a moment. But, at least you lived. At least you were happy sometimes.
I capture moments of pain. It’s my way of owning them. I make it all beautiful. I picture things in a way that translates them into beauty for my mind. I take pictures of everything. I don’t share them all. But, it helps me own the moment. I have the freedom to take myself out of painful moments when I choose. I can choose to step out of an active role at times and merely observe. But I don’t live my own life as an inactive participant. That’s were the difference lies. If I am in pain because of risk, then it’s my pain. I own the pain. I own my life. If I am in pain because I never took any risks, because I never tried … then life owns me. The pain owns me. And I am powerless to stop it.
